Mas Carlot

Mas Carlot is a pretty 17th century Provencal farmhouse, located in the Costières de Nîmes, to the south of the Rhône valley. It stretches across 65 hectares in the north of the Camargue, where the vines are planted at an altitude of 70 meters, on pebbles rolled by the Rhône.
While the estate has long been cultivated with respect for nature and the soil, in 2017 Cyril Marès requested certification in organic farming.

This blend of 60% Roussanne, 30% Marsanne and 10% Viognier is outstanding. An elegant white that offers up notes of peach marmalade, apricots, honeyed pears, candle wax and a touch of buttered brioche. With a good fresh acidity as well as abundant fruit and flavour, this attractive, medium-bodied wine overdelivers.

Delicate hints of orange blossom, smoke and vanilla meander from nose to finish in this unctuous, mouthfilling dry white. Made from Clairette, it’s decadent and ripe on the palate but balanced by tart tangerine acidity and pleasantly astringent phenolics on the finish. It offers remarkable value for an elegant wine.

A delicate floral perfume extends from nose to finish in this dry, dusty-pink rosé. While full bodied and voluminous on the palate, its watermelon and red-cherry flavors are almost diaphanous in concentration. Thirst quenching and mineral, it finishes on a lingering tang of salt.

Very dark, with some purple hues in the glass. A blend is 60% Grenache, 35% Syrah, and 5% Mourvedre; all fermented in stainless steel and aged in concrete for 6 to 12 months. The aromas are seductive and pronounced with notes of woodsmoke, hints of clove and layers of rich blueberry, black cherry, and cassis fruit.

Incredibly dense and sweet fruit, dark berries, cassis, black olives with peppery spice. It is concentrated, complex and viscous, yet elegant and harmonious.

A nose of yellow-fleshed fruit, acacia and a hint of vanilla, very pleasant
A full and suave mouth, with a beautiful chew and body.
Mas CarlotLes Enfants Terribles
A floweriness and slight spiciness, characteristics of ripe berries, definite creaminess. The taste is also floral. Gentle tannins and broad fruit acids create a fair amount of fruitiness. The style of the wine is youthfully full and leaves an elegant, rather long and delicious, sunny after-effect.
